Learning Spanish should be fun.
At the same time it should be frills-free, if you know what I mean. Whether you are a beginner at learning Spanish or almost proficient, E-Spanyol.hu is a website worth recommending for you.
The home page itself is a nice summary of what to expect in a website that offers Spanish lessons. The sidebar offers links that helps you pick which aspect of learning Spanish you can start. The main page on the other hand provides a short introduction with links attached to certain keywords that you can click.
E-Spanyol.hu has got your Spanish lessons’ needs covered. They teach you the basics of grammar and vocabulary and also include games that would motivate you enough to take your Spanish lessons seriously. Like Hangman, for example; You normally play Hangman on your desktop. In this website’s version, you see the extra vowels that makes Spanish unique from the English language. Who would have thought a few indents would change pronunciation of a vowel?
While some Spanish lesson websites rely on a Spanish-English translation and differentiation, E-Spanyol.hu also offers a Spanish-Hungarian dictionary. That explains the orange, white and green flag displayed at the sidebar beside the flag of Spain. It represented the flag of Hungary that when clicked directs you to the Hungarian version of E-Spanyol.hu to teach Spanish to Hungarians too.
It doesn’t have Twitter. But you can see the “Like” button in all 3 versions of E-Spanyol.hu that you can click to connect you to their Facebook page. So if ever the website edited some articles and applied some corrections, you would see it in your Facebook feed.
E-Spanyol.hu, with the cooperation of the Spanish Language Project Team of University of California, compiled a list of audio files that students can listen to in accompaniment of the written text posted on the website. The website has a built-in player that you can click to play while trying to match the spoken words with the words displayed online. Although you have the option to click the UC link itself, you might as well click the Spanish audio selection on E-Spanyol.hu itself since it’s a compacted version of the UC audio offered too.
For an intense immersion into the Spanish language, the site also offers livestream links to Spanish radio stations that you can listen to while trying immerse yourself in the phonetic aspect of Spanish language mastery.
Conclusion on e-Spanyol.hu
I highly recommend E-Spanyol.hu. The Internet Wayback Machine archived the site successfully. It was offered as a free service at the time to promote learning the Spanish language. Which among these websites reviewed then survived? The succeeding articles will then say.
